Philosophy of Life

Stress, irritation, frustration, disappointments, insecurity, anxiety and panic are all mental diseases which can be cured, and the best medicine to all is Gita, the philosophy of life.
We come accross n number of situations in life when we feel helpless, lost, void of hopes, disheartened and the like. The best way to overcome this situation is to stop all the activities, take a bhagwad gita and start reading it. Read the meaning of each shloka carefully, as and you proceed further you unknowingly start getting answers to all your questions and doubts.

My understanding:
A human being can be split into 4 parts:
Body
Mind
Intellect
Soul
First comes the body- Having control over your body is of immense value, so as to avoid many of the physical diseases we experience in our routine life. Gita talks about having "Satvik Aahaar", which means less oily, less spicy, no sweets, no junk food- in short having food that gives energy to your heart and brain, and leaves you with a peaceful stomach. Controlling your sense organs, or using them only when required is the best way of controlling your body. This can be done by following meticulously a routine which involves yoga, pranayam or a brisk walk in the morning. Take care of your body, it will never let you down.

Second is the Mind- Mind cannot be seen, it can be felt. Mind lives on thoughts. Your thoughts determine the peace of your mind. Happy, positive peaceful thoughts can bring out a wonderful change in your behavoir. It is a tendency of every human being to carry even a small undesirable event or incident in his mind, think over it, reach conclusions and develop a kind of prejudice. This prejudice then rules our mind and takes away all the peace and ability to think rationally. To control your thoughts is a very difficult thing. But Gita provides a solution to this problem also. It tells you to meditate. Meditation is nothing but an attempt to stop all the thoughts that comes to your mind and attain the highest level of concentration. We all can fnd atleast 15-20 mins a day and start meditating. Slowly and gradually we feel the change within. A peaceful mind can make wonders. It can bring a smile on your face even in tricky or stressfull situations.

Third is the Intellect- Intellect is more related to self realization. The most harmful enemy of a human being is his EGO. Understanding the intellect can kill this enemy very easily. Gita says that there is nothing in this world that belongs to me. I am a custodian. I dont have right over the fruits or result but I have the right over my deeds and duties- Karma. Whatever i do will give me some result positive or negative. I have no control over the result but i have control over my deeds. If i play with explosive i know i'll be caught with fire, knowing that i need to avoid it. So the deeds are in my control, the result is obvoius. No other person is to be blamed for my mis deeds or mistakes. Self realizations means to understand that there is nothing called as good or bad, happy or sad, these are all states of mind. All are passing phases. The one who can remain indifferent in all situations and accept the situation as is, is called a Gyani. Thus the shloka Karmanyevadhikaraste, Maa phaleshu kadachana, Maa karmaphalaheturbhurmo, Tesangostav Karmani" is the gist of Karmayog shastra explained in gita. Do your deeds considering it to be your duty and without expecting the fruits can help you to do all your work efficiently and effectively.

And Last but not the least comes Soul- Gita says "I" am not the body, "I" am not the mind, "I" am not the intellect. "I" am the SOUL. The Aatman. Soul is beyond the body mind and intellect. It is a gateway to reach the Almighty Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna is a cosmic energy in human form. The entire universe is a cosmic manifestation of the energy called Lord Krishna. The body stays alive till the time this Soul is within the body. When we say he died, it means that his soul has left the body. The soul is immortal it never dies. Because it doesnt have any form. It is present everywhere. When a human being understands that the ultimate aim- is to get rid of the cycle of life and death. i.e attain moksha as it is called in Gita, he becomes liberalized. He gets no pleasure in the material things and worldly emotions and attachments. He knows the source from where he comes and where he wants to go finally. Reaching the Soul and identifying it with the Almighty Lord Krishna is the final step of a human beings journey of life, which takes him to the source from where he is originated.

At times all this sounds very much theoritical, but the time has come where we all have to take some time of the busy shcedule we follow and try to understand this philosophy of life callled Gita. My self experience says that you read it thousand times, you will get a unique experience when you read it one more time. Gita is a blessing by Lord Krishna to all human beings. We all should be thankful to the Lord for showing his mercy in form of these beautiful words called Gita.

Jai Shri Krishna!!!!!
